Hello! My name is Ricky. I would like to give you a pest control guide which will help you to rid your property of different kinds of pests. At this point, I should say that I am not a professional pest control contractor but I do have a great deal of experience of hiring pest control services and watching the agents work around my home. If you have ever seen a man catch a spider, snake or rat, you will be amazed at the skill they demonstrate. I have learnt a lot of very cool things from pest contractors which I will be sharing with you here.

Termites can destroy your home within a few months. They act discreetly, with their small size making it possible for them to crawl unseen into your home. They feed on wood 24 hours a day, every day. By the time you notice the damage, they may have destroyed all your wooden furniture and moved on to the structure. This is why you need to keep them out of your home. Take note of these four things that may be attracting the termites.
Overhanging Tree Branches
Tree branches that are overhanging your roof can act as routes for termites to use to infest your home. Some termite species invade trees and feed on the cellulose that makes up the wood. In the process, they may travel up an overhanging branch, land on your roof and crawl into your attic or through your windows. If you suspect a termite infestation on your property, trim back any tree branches overhanging your roof to sever access to your home.
Gardening Mulch
While mulch is an essential component in organic gardening, it may be the source of your infestation. Termites love the warmth and moisture available in organic mulch. Also, since mulch contains organic matter such as wood shavings, termites can feed on it as well. In the process, they can find their way into your house and wreak havoc on your furniture. If you have to prepare mulch, do it away from your home's foundation to keep the termites away.
Firewood and Timber
Do you have any firewood lying near your home? Or is there any leftover timber lying in your yard? If so, it can attract termites into your home. Natural wood contains cellulose, one of the most abundant organic compounds in plants. Termites love to feed on this compound, and since they can find it in timber and firewood, they will infest your yard. If the wood is located near your home, these pesky creatures will eventually find their way in your home as they search for more cellulose. Keep firewood and timber away from your house's perimeter to prevent an infestation.
Abandoned Tree Stumps
Stumps of large trees are hard to remove, and after a tree cutting project, some people leave the stumps to rot on their own. This isn't always a great idea as the stump can act as a breeding ground for pests such as termites. If the tree is near your foundation, the termites may crawl into your home and eat at your wooden fixtures. Thus, remove all abandoned tree stumps in your property to keep the insects away.
Unlike most pests, termites can go unnoticed for a long time. The only evidence of their presence would be the weakening structure and the crumbling fixtures. Contact a termite control company if you have a termite infestation in your home.
